It was also the only British fighter to be in continuous production throughout the war. The Spitfire continues to be a popular aircraft, with approximately 53 Spitfires being airworthy, while many more are static exhibits in aviation museums all over the world.

The Supermarine Spitfire airplane model is completely hand-built & handcrafted of aluminum etched metal sheets over a lightweight wooden frame. The functioning wheels are metal and the tires are made of rubber.

This Supermarine Spitfire model is highly detailed with ailerons and tail rudder that are functional. The cockpit is fully detailed and the cockpit cover slides. The model aircraft can be displayed hanging from the ceiling, sitting on it's own landing gear or mounted on it's own solid cast aluminum stand (included).
